Barren Ramp Work

The Core has brought the lake back down to winter pool to aid in completion of the New Ramp at the Dam. I have heard they are going to keep it at winter pool, baring any major rains, to get the work done. I have heard rumors that this could last well into the spring and possibly early summer. I heard there are now Restrooms and a sea wall built and courtesy docks? Can anyone elaborate on this? I have not been there all winter and will be there for the first time this weekend. Just curious as to whats going on at the new ramp and an idea of completion. Thanks!

From what I can see from the water there has been a lot of work done, it looks like they have new restrooms and there is a nice walkway built around the area, I assume the walkway is to provide easy access for bank fishing. Large rocks have been dumped at the end of the existing ramp and there is a metal form lying on the ramp, probably for the extension of the ramp.

What affect, if any, will this have on the spawn this year? Seems to me if they hold on winter pool through spring into summer, the prime spawning areas will be high and dry. Hope it doesn't hurt the spawn to much this year...

They are not going to hold it past April 15 as usual. I don't understand how you can have a high end ramp that is all gravel drive and parking lot. Why would I want to drive my truck and boat on a dusty ass parking lot. I don't get it why is this entire thing nnot black top at least. They want it to be this great tournament ramp and have people drive their prized posessions through the crap they call a parking lot.

Guys, I talked to the Corp. of Eng. yesterday. They said its at winter pool and they were closing the gate on March 15 to get lake at summer pool. The plan is to pave the parking lot for the new ramp.

Will the new ramp be usable when the lake is at winter pool? It would be a better ramp for me to put in at during duck season than driving around to Peninsula.
