If you directed the question to me then yeah I bought it online. Found a deal to good to pass up. Now what I bought was a Netbook which is much smaller and less powerful than a traditional Laptop but it suited what the girfriend would be using it for.

I always point people here http://slickdeals.net/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=9 when looking for deals on anything. Just browse or search the forums for what you want and if you find a really good deal you like buy it asap because once it's posted on there things can go out of stock in minutes.

Also you should learn about Bing Cash Back if you don't know already because it can save you a ton of money and a lot of the deals posted at the forum listed above use it to get the best price. Using Bing saved me $38 on the Netbook alone, it was priced at $250 and I got it for $212 (15% OFF). Link to Bing info http://www.bing.com/shopping/pages/faq.aspx?FORM=R5FD3

www.Tigerdirect.com is where I got the Netbook from. They have good prices on lots of their stuff.

I'm frugal what else can I say.

Don, my Gateway just crashed and is completely dead after almost 10 years and had very little problem if any at all. I had to take an HP back the same day I bought it. Ended up buying a Dell and I just got off the phone with with customer support. I have had the computer may be 2 months more like 6weeks and I bet I have been on the tech support line more than 12 times. The computer is real close to going back to the factory in pieces. Hope this helps. Ryan.

I work on a Dell latitude every day. I have worked on Panasonic tough book, HP's, Itronix and let me tell you.. IBM is the best hands down!! I am a little biased because my brother is a computer engineer for them, but the customer service is great. You can also buy a good refurbished one for half the price of a new one and still get the customer service that goes along with it.

Speaking of laptops (assuming you did not mean lap dancers):

Went into Best Buy who had a netbook advertized as "connect anywhere to the internet". So I asked the sales goof, what does "anyhwere mean"? He says. "Anywhere there's a hot spot" (Ruling out the lap dancer) I asked, but you said anywhere in the ad, so does that mean it has a built in 3G card?

He answered "Sir, your are not computer literate. Anywhere means close to a hot spot, that's B/G/N wireless" , EVERYWHERE in and ad, means 3G"

I realize sales people don't make up the ads. I took a deep breathe, and told the young guy my pace maker needed recharging and I had to leave now. He was just doing his job..........but he really did come close to having a life altering event unfold after the "You are not computer literate" comment.

I think I might give up computers, and start hitting the lap dance bars. They cost less money, and while you are never sure what you will get, you atleast get SOMETHING TO REMEMBER. And you don't have to pay for anti virus protection at a rate of $39/year, you can do it for about 50 cents per use.

    Re: Dell Computers

    I'll never buy another Dell.

We often buy stuff on same-as-cash terms. We applied for a 12 months same-as-cash offer on a Dell PC, and were informed that we were turned down. After some digging, I found out that we were turned down because we had a history of buying stuff on same-as-cash terms, and <gasp> paying it off before the 19% retroactive interest rate kicked in.

They only accepted the folks they knew they were going to rack up those heavy finance charges on.
