Fished Down in the duck pond Monday. And once again this I watched as people keep every fish that they reeled in. So do how you fillet a fish the size of a cigar. Do you know that DNR says that most walleye and sauger are not of sexual age until they are about 15" or bigger. So we are going to be our own demise. So keep those cigars and we will be saying were is the fish in just a short time. In this time and age in the deer fields now that they put in food plot selective harvest we have trophy deer in the 200" + range. Every year what is the biggest saug caught down there. world record 17 lbs 2oz.

well i`m like you,,,i can see maybe keeping little ones if thats all thats biteing,,but when i went the smallest was 14 in,,i had 2 males out of 20 fish,,reast females but here is penty of bigger fish,,plus what kinda fillet can you get off a 10in sauger ,,,come on

Go up north and look at creel imits and slot fishing they catch a lot of large fish up there this could be a trophy fishery.

yeah we have been doing well in there ,today I heard it had slowed down ,there has probably 300 female sauger hauled out of there since last Friday !!And they all have eggs in them ,so figure it out ,the numbers of future years are probably being affected.

Of course folks have been catch sauger in the river for years and the Ohio River is considered to be one of the best fisheries for sauger in the world .

I would have to say that now there are allot more people that fish for them .It used to be a small group of river rats and since they have built the Falls Musuem the number of anglers has greatly increased .Somedays you can count over 100 folks on the bank ! Never used to see that many .

And people wonder why fishing is tough sometimes, lol. I will NEVER understand why anybody would keep a 10 inch Sauger, it's not enough meat to make a good Long John Silvers crunchy, lol. Uneducated fisherman about the sport are killing the sport in many places, it's sad but very true.

Don't take this wrong but Blabbing it on this internet all the time does alot more than you think.

I was at the Duck pond both Monday and Tuesday. Monday we kept some fish,all were over 18 inches. We returned Tuesday and also caught fish but released all of them. Why? I was too tired from cleaning them the day before!!!

Seriously, some of the other fishermen looked at us liked we slapped their momma when we released those sows. Twenty sauger from the day before equals 40 filets. I don't plan on eating that much.
