Prayers for Dad

My Dad is having bypass surgery tuesday. This is the first time he's been in the hospital since he was 7. He's always been in good shape, doesnt smoke, and eats pretty good, so we were shocked to find out he had to have emergency surgery. He went in last week after my mom finally begged him into having his chest pains checked out, and good thing he did. Two arteries 70% blocked and one 100% blocked. They wouldve done the surgery immediately but they have to wait for "Plavix" to get out of his system because it keeps blood from clotting and it makes surgery impossible.

Please say a prayer that all goes well. He's a pastor, so his church is praying and many others, but I know some of you guys will pray as well. He's the best man I know and we need him around.

Prayers definitely sent your way. I'm glad that the doctors were able to find out what was wrong with him before something bad may have happened. I don't know you personally, but have read some of your threads and responded to them, and vice versa. I enjoy your input, and some of the pics you have posted.

May God lay a healing hand on your father and allow him a quick recovery.

You have my prayers. I had 4 bypasses back in September 2008. Serious surgery, very sore for at least 6 weeks. The surgeon equipped me with a harness or halter around my chest so that when you coughed or sneezed you could grab the handles and squeeze them together and reduce the chances of tearing anything apart. It helped a huge amount. Good luck to your dad.

Thoughts and prayers for your Dad. Mine had a similar procedure a few years back after the "big-one"....still works too much and smokes a pack a day. Hard to change the spots on a leopard. Good luck to your family.
