Well here I go boys! I`m leaveing for the hospital in a few for my heart cath. I`m so stupit! I`ve done this to myself again by going back to smoking. But too late now. I sure hope they can fix or help what ever they found,,,with out gutting me like a fish. But I`ll let everybody knowwhat happens,,,man I can`t be laided up too long,,,I got fish to catch. So wish me luck,pray for me,,,even better comebody come do this for me....LOL I`ll see you guys later,,,and stay out of my duck pond!

It's got to be the hardest drug in the world to quit, I never smoked in my life. but my mother does, and she has tried to quit, even with the doctors help and can't. so I hope you get better, after the heart cath. and I have already ask god to take care of you. I will keep praying for you.

Tell him John, I been preaching to him also. Them deathsticks will kill you there is no doubt. Doug come and walk the halls of Kindred Hospital with me sometime and see what's in your future if you don't quit, and that's if they don't just kill ya before you end up in that shape.

Doug, this is good news, and I know how much it means to you not to have to go through any cardiac procedure. Normally I do not say much to people who smoke any more because through 40 years of working with people who have destroyed their health by smoking, I have found people who have an addictive nature, never stop smoking until they want to no matter what anyone says. I tried to get my father to quit smoking for 30 years to no avail, but when he got the word he had lung cancer, he stopped immediately. So you tell me what was up with that? I do agree that stopping an addictive habit is very difficult, but there are ways to do it through drugs, support groups and educational programs. Its my openion that one who wants to quit smoking must realize how much good health means to them and to their love ones and just do the right thing and quit whatever it takes to do so. My father taught me how to fish at 4 years old. He was my best friend. He was my fishing buddy and a great fisherman. He died twenty years to soon, and I have missed every fishing day in those twenty years that I should have spent on the water with him. So all you fathers and husbands and wives who have children please understand you mean the world to your children. Stop selling yourself short. Take care of the health God gave you and start living life to the fullest in the best health possible. I hear it every day I come to work... "I wish I had taken better care of myself." I have been in the cardiopulmonary field for 40 years, so I have seen some very sad cases...believe me. Good health and good fishing everyone.

Doug, Glad to hear all is good with the health. Prayers were definately answered, but they go answered with conditions. God isn't cheap. Quit smoking! Or he'll come getcha WAY before your time. It's happened to alot of people I know and love. It ***** for those you leave behind. You have to make the decision for yourself, for selfish reasons. Everyone can chime in, but it does no good unless you decide for yourself. LOL....your prolly out on the river as we sit and write about trying to get you to quit.

Remember that sick worried feeling you had and you were sure that smoking had contributed to another bypass session. Take that one thing out of contention and drop the habit. Good luck.
