    Fluoro ? for all

I usually use 10lb excel mono for crankin and 17lb excel mono for spinners, jigs, worm ect. If I use 10lb mono do I want to use 10lb fluoro? I'm wanting to switch to fluoro this year and was wanting to know your all's thought's on what size has been good for you. And whats the best knots to use on fluoro?
    Thanks, Jason

I'd say for the most part you can stick with the same lb test. I know I previously used 17lb mono for jigs and worms and now I use 17 or 15 lb fluoro without any problems. I also use 10lb fluoro for crankin'. I like the improved clinch knot but a lot of people use the palomar.

Keep in mind fluoro is a different line then mono. Check your knots more frequently and remember it sinks (doesn't work well with topwater). Also watch out for backlashes as it will kink your line which makes a weaker spot in the spool. I now use it for practically everything except topwater.

on my crank bait and spinning rods i will use 8 to 10 lb and for like jigs and worms and such i will use anywhere from 12 to 15 lbs. have not had any proublems. and i use a regular palymer knot. i hope this helps alot of people will use heavier line but this works for me. remember to check the line every so often and retie you should be fine. i like to use p-line 100% fluorocarbon or halo. i will also use fluoroclear. never had any proublems out of p-line stay away from vanish. the new berkley 100% fluorocarbon is good to. another thing is i like to use the KVD lure and line conditioner. i hope this helps.

i went from 10 lb mono for cranking to 12 lb floro. works well for me. now if u set a hard hook, i suggest using 20 or 25lb for your jigs and worms. i learned this the hard way. lots of break offs until the upgrade in line.

Don't get to overly complicated on line. I buy one jumbo spool of 15lb fluro for jigs and worms. I can fish that size line deep on ledges and in shallow water. Then I have 12lb fluro that I can use on deep cranks and spinning tackle for lighter t-rigs. Then I have 17lb mono for spinnerbaits and shallow cranks if needed. That's about all I carry and I have these lines spooled on about 10 or 11 different rods.

    Tie floro to mono

Any body know how to tie a floro leader to braid without using a swivel so it can be cast. I heard a guide down at KY on the radio Sunday and he said he used braid ( I am assuming on a spinning reel) with a 4' leader of floro to cast for bass. Maybe he said 40' leader? Was in the car could not hear all that well.
