Had a pretty good trip on the Licking River Saturday. Took night crawlers, minnows, and jigs. Caught one keeper crappie, 15" smallmouth, 12" largemouth, and two white suckers. If I had red worms I would have caught a ton of suckers. Getting ready to run any day. Talked to some buddies that go to a hot spot for crappie and only caught one bass. Said there were two huge otters in the creek! Keep hearing about otters popping up and the fishing declining sharply! A pond in Owen County was cleaned out by a group of seven otters! I know they won't affect fishing in larger bodies of water, but what is supposed to keep them in check as far a population? What do you guys think?![]()
