alright i originally had two 520c's, then on the third trip back to lowrance one morphed into a 525c. i also use the navionic chips in both. i have experienced similar problems also even though it isn't exactly the same that you are mentioning.
here is what i have done in the past. SAVE your waypoints onto a chip and take any notes on how you like your screen setup because you need to do a hard reset (see manual, i forget). load your waypoints and test out the navionic chip before you go back and personalize your screens.
i feel your pain. i have had a lot of issue and now i am scared of sending them back. i haven't dropped lowrance like many others, but i will look into when these no longer work. hope this helps.
Is Linda Colt not working for Lowrance anymore? She's always been extremely nice and helpful. She has always returned my calls and/or emails promptly.

Looks like a great time to buy stock in HB. I switched to HB years ago and have never been sorry.
it is tough right now to be with lowrance, which i am...obviously i am not happy about linda like many others...at this point i hope someone buys navico and gets them back on target before the entire ship is sunk. who knows. definitely tough stuff.
that is why i have only owned humminbird for the past 4 years. i knew to many people who have had proublems with lowrance.
Lowrance had my unit for 8 months. They are junk and their warranty work is a joke. They and A2O have gotten their last dollars out of me. A2O knowingly sold me a unit that they were having loads of problems with. After spending $800.00 for my unit, it worked for a whole 2 weeks. A lesson learned the hard way!
Yes I talked to her a while back. I guess they are just slow with their response.
I think I woke her up with a firm e-mail.
