Brought home limits of sauger the last two nights from Greenup Dam tailwaters so they should be hitting in the Kentucky also.

What would you guys recommend - crappie on a local lake or sauger in the Ky river this weekend?
I don't know what to chase
Thanks

i've fished the Ky river 3 times in the last week and a 1/2 and havent caught the first sauger, and thats mostly what i've been fishing for. ive fished below lock 4 and 5 and several places in between. hope you have better luck.
I've only managed to pick up 2 2 pounders in the past 2 trips for sauger on the river. Crappy are still deep too. We tried out some brush piles on the river with no luck. It'd be a toss up but we're gonna try the sauger one more time tomorrow at lock 7.
Hope you went sauger fishing, the crappie bite completely shut down this weekend.
I live in Frankfort, what technique do you use for sauger?
Sauger were on better yesterday than today. A buddy caught his limit all 15-22 inches. We went today and managed one sauger and one red horse. We throw jigs and curly tails with either a minnow or night crawler on the hook.
Well I fished for sauger on Sunday. I got wetter than a fish sitting out in the cold rain.
Got no bites and caught no fish. This is my fifth time fishing for sauger this spring and still haven't caught a fish.
I tried the crappie for an hour or so but couldn't buy a bite.
