I thoroughly enjoyed the whippin myself! Aside from Vandy, there aren't many teams out there that I'd love to spank like little babies more than Tennessee.
Bruce Pearl = Sweat Hog...coronary waiting to happen...can't be good on the ticker to stay that red-faced all the time. lol
Major props to Big Cuz for taking a cheap shot in the pills and not coming out swinging. Orton needs a little work on the 'tude. Cal is better than me for letting a kid walk off the court and to the locker room, only to come back and say "I sorry boss" and get playing time after it. WOW. I guess it is like a "family" with him and he's going back and forth with them like they are his kids.
With our talent level, I don't "fear" any team out there....I just fear our ability to "always" put it together and keep our heads. Few of the teams out there can beat us unless we give them a lot of help doing it.
But, you think Mississippi State won't bring it all today?
What "they" are playing for:
(1) Revenge. We beat them at The Hump....but probably shouldn't have. I'm not one to talk about refs, but State got homered by their own zebras that night late in the game.
(2) All of the Big Cuz "Call Me!" stuff...
(3) The post-game crap where their fans were throwing stuff...
(4) Varnardo didn't have a big game against us and rode the pines in foul trouble - He will want to prove himself against the blue.
(5) And MOST OF ALL...They are on the bubble again after Houson and New Mexico State won in upsets Saturday and punched their tickets. A win today automatically punches the ticket for Mississippi State and keeps them alive.
What "we" are playing for:
(1) Pride. We want a SEC tourney championship again.
(2) Seeding. We are already a #1 seed. Can we be the #1 overall seed instead of Kansas? A crushing win today could make that happen, though I kinda doubt it. A close nailbiter, even if it's a win for blue, will probably keep us at the second #1 seed behind the Jawyhawks.
I have a feeling that come 1:00 today, we're going to be in for a barn burner.
GO CATS!
