Re: Patoka Lake Cold Water Bass

I've NEVER caught a 10 pound bass. Would love to though. Matter of fact, I have bum luck all the time....like today. I only got to fish an hour because my fishing buddy, his son got into a fist fight at school and we had to pack up so he could go pick his son up. That SUCKED !

Water temps were above 45 degrees today. Some spots around Painters Creek, in the shallows hit 49 Degrees. I missed one Bass on a Spinnerbait on that first cove to your right after you go under the bridge. All we had time to do was fish both sides of the cove where the stick ups are.

Oh and Steve, since you like razzin', I KNOW I seen a video of ya' on Youtube pickin' your nose and eatin' a booger. Nice Pal.

Seriously though Steve, I would expect you to take what I post with a grain of salt. You don't know me and that is understandable. However, everything I've posted on my rigs isn't any secret. You can go to just about ANY Magazine and read the same setups. I was just simply passing along some things I have tried and have found useful at Patoka. Nobody says you HAVE to use them techniques.

Oh, and that picture you seen IS of me quite a few years back. I didn't create that post. I am guessing it was put up by a guy who I took fishing a few times with me. The friendship went sour when he got fired where we use to work. I had nothing to do with that either, but he thought I did. Oh well. I've never caught 103 Bass in one day either....LMFAO....what a day that would be though....huh?

No, that was one of two fish caught that day, but I'd say more like 2-3 lbs. Tops. Not sure cause I didn't weigh them or keep them. Those WERE caught behind Hoosier Marina too.

Well that ***** that your day was ruined. And I'm not out to prove anyone wrong, and most of the techniques you've discussed I agree with, I just don't like to see people get lied to. And Justin you are correct about pictures, but that was an obvious one. Love the updates on Patoka though, because they are helpful and can help people narrow possibilities down.

Well I'm glad that was all cleared up man. I PREFER to make friends, not create enemies, specially since ya' never know when you might run into someone on this Forum up there. No, I'm not a lie type of guy, well, I may lie to the wife to get out on the lake...LOL. Just kidding. Hope to see ya' around sometime Steve.

Found yet ANOTHER bogus posting of those fish I caught. They were nice ones guys...don't get me wrong....but not that nice. LMAO....maybe I bragged a bit TOO much way back then and made somebody jealous. I don't know what their problem is..but they got issues. I'm not mad about it though. I think it's funny.

Here is a pic of my Truck and Boat back then. I've never done a search on my name before. Interesting what you find.

It is pretty funny though. I was just showing my wife what's going on. It's definately something this guy would do. But, if anyone chooses to believe I'm lying about the whole situation...it's cool with me. Won't stop me from having a good time.

I for one appreciate the tips. The last I knew, nobody has to read any thing they don't want to.

Re: Patoka Lake Cold Water Bass

When I went the other day the guy at the counter in Poor Boys General Store said they was biting on Jigs with Green Speckles in them. I didn't get a chance to try that, but I got a WHOLE bunch of em'. I bought a huge Jig kit from Bass Pro Shops a few years ago and I have 2 in every weight of that color. I got the Red/Brown colors....which represent crawfish. The Black/Blue colors have always worked well for me. I've never used the Green/Brown colors. Maybe that's why they are biting on those right now, it's just that little something different from what they are used to.

Yesterday I went fishing in my pond and actually hooked a nice Bass on a Buzzbait. This morning, they were back to liking the Spinnerbait. Been fishing for about an hour or so down there, caught 4 keepers..but we put them back. That pond tells me alot about what the fish are doing before a Tournament. If I was going this coming up Saturday, I'd make sure to bring along a Jitterbug and a Buzzbait just in case. Ya' never know when they might switch over to the topwater hit. I did a Tournament down at Green River for UPS a few years back in the middle of August, people thought I was crazy for using a buzzbait because it was so hot. I came in 3rd....LMAO.
