I will be fishing Grayson on Sat. any ideas on what to fish with.
Deep diving crankbaits and spinnerbaits are hot now there. Water is stained.
But if I were in Flatwoods and I wasnt prefishing this weekend I would go to Yatesville. Lots of tournaments on Grayson on the 27th so lots of people will be there this weekend prefishing.
Rattletrap parallel the banks. Dirty water, firetiger or Gold/Black. Clearer water Blue/chrome or Black/chrome. Slow roll a Spinnerbait close to the bottom, use double colorado blades or Indiana blades.
Bassky
ill be there prefishing saturday as well. should be a nice day to fish!
I was told that there are 3 tournaments there Sat.
wow, should be fun in that skinny lake!
ill report back on how it went.
I was out there today and there were about 25 boats on the lake around 2:00. There is a Bassin USA tournament on sat the 20th and I understand there is 3 more next sat. I like to fish along the old beach front and directly across the other side. The riff raff along the dam are is ok. If you wana make the run down the lake the river channel is usual good this time of year. Spinner baits, lipless cranks are all ok, I like to slow roll a square bill 3" crank bait in all those areas. I might come out Sat but I dought it.
Man it was crowded today. We got out late and didnt hit the water until 1. Must have been 80 boats or more on the lake. Everybody seemed curtious and many were crappie fishing but it slowed the bite. Especially the shallow bass. It seemed the bass we caught were 3ft or less. No keepers.
And I know of 4 tournaments on Grayson next weekend.
Renegade, Pondhoppers, Louisa bass club, Greenbo club open tournament
I would expect 50 boats in those alone
caught a few on saturday as well with no keepers. very crowded.
lawrence county ohio bass club also will have a tourney there this saturday.
Well maybe it isn't so bad my boat is in the shop then lol. Wow thats alot of boats on Grayson. I don't think there are that many parking spots there unless some are using the Bruin launch. It's a fun little lake to fish. I didn.t make the run up the river the other day because the motor was missing. I assume most were fishing up that way since I didn't see many on the water.
