    Re: Health Care Vote

A local factory here in Beaver Dam just announced to their employees that their Ins premiums are going to double effective this week, this one lady I work with her husband works there and their ins went from 85 week family plane to 170 a week. This cuts into the employees bottom line now. This is ridiculas, this is also the same factory that employes illegal's, and lets them work under false ss# and names and pays no taxes.THis is unreal. Also sorry Prowler I missread you, if things keep going like it is we will need to put in place termination when we reach a certian age. ugh

this bill is going to do nothing but make medical needs sky rocket and cost even more thatn they do now, the waiting period to see your family doctor will be horrible and if you need a specialist, well , just forget about that. premiums for those who are already insured via a company plan or just a individual plan are going to be outrageous. there will be no need for you employer to caryy anything other than worker comp and if it is offered through your employer its going to be as bad if not worse than what was mentioned in the above post.

$ 170 a week for medical coverage!!!! were all going to be in the crapper before too long. its bad enough the economy is in the crapper and most who are working are struggling and thjose who want to work cant find a job or have to settle for a back breaking job that barely pays the bills if their lucky.

it should be manditory for all those in goverment to test run this GREAT PLAN before it hits the public. if that would happen than we could probably count on it being forgotten about fairly quick.

i understand completely. if it were not for my wifes employer i would be in the same boat. before she landed the job she has right now my employer was transitioning into this exact kind of thing. although it was great insurance with great coverage as i said in my first post i would not be able to afford it now with the higher cost of living and due to the fact i have only had one small raise in the last 4 years, but i think god every day that me and my wife both enjoy our job and still have jobs and good healthcare plans< for now anyways..............

[I mean, if you are without insurance, no matter what the reason, you can't just let a kid sit there with a broken leg and not go to the hospital because you won't or can't work.]

i agree 100 %, a child should not have to suffer if there parents dont have any insurancs. its not there fault there parents dont have it for some reason , especialy if there not able to to work to afford coverage. children should be taken care of first in any situation, they are our future an some day we will depend on them to make important decisions possibly involing issues such as healthcare.

Dayum! Was this due to the new law? Just coincidence? If they have any proof of illegals I would call the labor board.

If insurance companies are freaking out, it's because they can't believe what a gift just fell into their lap. Sure they can't deny anyone because of pre-existing conditions any longer, but they just got 30 million new customers. Plus there's nothing in the books that says they can't raise the rates. If they do so, the older folks might not be able to pay and will be dropped. That leaves the 30 year old crowd - and guess which group doesn't get sick as often?

Don't you think they would have fought this a lot harder if it meant their business would go down the drain? It was much like a pool shark. Ok you can win this game go ahead and pass your bill that makes us the lynchpin of health care. Bill passes. Grins start to appear on faces...now the real game begins.....................SUCKER!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To heck with the new bill....what a stupid thing to pass!! To heck with a lot of anything the government has a hand in...PERIOD!

At any rate...does anyone here work in the construction industry? If so, how do you all foresee it affecting the healthcare construction industry? Anyone?

For healthcare PROVIDERS, yeah this might have been a gift. But riddle me this, Batman... if this was such a "gift" to the health insurance companies, why is it that their stock prices have DROPPED since this was passed?

I don't see it that way. I see the start of something similiar to the mortgage crises. Gubment finds a way to bring the worst out of most things they touch largley cause they don't understand what they are doing and just stumble along and pass legislation in hopes of finding something that works.

If the law is as bad on the insurance companies as they say then they will ask for more money from us and eventually we will have less people covered...is that possible? Anyway they will form fannie-med and freddie-med to save us all from their terrible decisons....

    Tim,
That is a great question! My pesimistic side says it will slow down. I'm gonna start asking our healthcare product manufactures what they think.
