If insurance companies are freaking out, it's because they can't believe what a gift just fell into their lap. Sure they can't deny anyone because of pre-existing conditions any longer, but they just got 30 million new customers. Plus there's nothing in the books that says they can't raise the rates. If they do so, the older folks might not be able to pay and will be dropped. That leaves the 30 year old crowd - and guess which group doesn't get sick as often?

Don't you think they would have fought this a lot harder if it meant their business would go down the drain? It was much like a pool shark. Ok you can win this game go ahead and pass your bill that makes us the lynchpin of health care. Bill passes.
