Last I heard of the Bill, the cap on Health Insurance Policies is going to be 6% of your salary. So again, if you make money, you are going to pay more for your policy than someone that makes less. Plus you are going to be hit up for more taxes to pay for the bill. It most definately stinks for the guy who makes good money. No doubt about that. Gas isn't getting any cheaper either.
One scenario here is, and I'm not saying this IS going to happen, but company's may be forced to back down the salaries of middle class workers and lower wage workers, you can only back down the lower end to minimum wage, but it could happen. Forcing lower income to jump on Medicaid and if that happens, that particular company will be faced with fines. The Bill forces companies to offer health insurance in that manner.
I also see quite a few insurance companies closing their doors. Some probably won't be able to compete with the bigger ones like Humana, Aetna, or Metlife. An Insurance war is definately coming, fighting for business with the best rates.
Looks pretty gloomy for us in the near future, but Obama did say after he got elected, it was going to get worse before it gets better. I knew then we were in trouble.
While I do agree with this particular bill being passed, that's just because I benefit from it. I would not like it if I was in the Middle Income Class. As far as Obama getting re-elected. FAT CHANCE. This is too bold of a move from a first termer in office. It would be hard for EVEN a second termer to pull off. I think there are A LOT of changes to come in the future and it will be in reform for years.
