I don't know if this bill will actually drive down costs. It's the cost that's the issue. More people living longer and reliant on the insurance for much longer periods of time. The bill will force everyone to carry insurance, which will help shoulder the burden some. Perhaps if individual rates raise people might be more conscienscous (sp?) of the health care decisions they make.

Insurance companies can no longer deny people for pre-existing medical conditions, but at the same time a whole new pool of uninsured people that will now require insurance by law will come calling. Is there anything in the bill that prevents insurance companies from simply raising their premiums?
