What is the best Knot for flourocarbon line?
Palomar. If that's how it's spelled. I tie a palomar on everything and then tie a half knot over the palomar. I have never had my line broken at the knot and the only thing I throw is flouro, with a VERY LIMITED number of exceptions.
Palomar is a great knot, but this one is the one I've been using lately with flourocarbon. Just remember to moisten the line on flouro really good before you tie the knot.

Bass man I have been using this knot for about 15 years it is called a bull shoals night knot on bull shoals where I learned how to tie it. I have never had any touble on mono or flouro. I use the palomar knot with a hook because a bare hook does not have enough weight to tie the bull shoals night knot. I think Alton is waisting a lot of time I only wrap around the line 5 times not 6.Palomar is a great knot, but this one is the one I've been using lately with flourocarbon. Just remember to moisten the line on flouro really good before you tie the knot.

Beep Beep
Polymer and wet the line and cinch it down real - real slow as to keep from burning.
REAL slow
The palomar knot is what i was trying and it keep braking when i tightened it up Does it matter if its light or heavy line or you do you use the same knot no matter what line size?
The most important thing is to start with good flouro. I just bought three 3000 yard spools of Seagar Inviz X. It wasn't cheap, but it's well worth the investment.
I only use Bass Pro Shops XPS and have never had a break at the knot using the polymier. Just like what was said moisten the line first and put a safety on it. Remember to retie every trip out and you shouldn't have a problem.
Chowing popcorn smiley? The questions is getting real old!!! Better yet do the research. Google it ...look up youtube..many more available online!
It's a great question! PLEASE note that not everyone is on this board daily. The angler who asked this very ligitamate question is new to our fishin.com community, so we should encourage him to ask any question. YOU can always just walk away from things that don't interest you as well!
Tie the Eugene knot and make sure it pops when you tighten the knot. If it does not pop then retie until it does pop. Absolute best knot for flourocarbon.
