Palomar is a great knot, but this one is the one I've been using lately with flourocarbon. Just remember to moisten the line on flouro really good before you tie the knot.

Bass man I have been using this knot for about 15 years it is called a bull shoals night knot on bull shoals where I learned how to tie it. I have never had any touble on mono or flouro. I use the palomar knot with a hook because a bare hook does not have enough weight to tie the bull shoals night knot. I think Alton is waisting a lot of time I only wrap around the line 5 times not 6.Palomar is a great knot, but this one is the one I've been using lately with flourocarbon.
