    Re: Fishing gear stolen

Your home owners insurance might cover this minus the deductable. I know what you mean about being sick. I had this happen to me and you take it personally I can not image what a rape victim must feel. You will have a hard time remembering all that you lost. I had to itemize everything you lost if your insurance covers it. My insurance agent told me to itemize everything then wait about two weeks before submitting the list because you will think of more items over time.

    Angry Re: Fishing gear stolen

"I wouldn't say its just the rods themselves, but the amount of time and preparation I put into my tackle ... Whoever took it just sees it as fishing stuff, but to me it was what made me, me."

Man, I am sorry to hear that for you also. I hope you catch them. It makes me mad too; hearing it. There is a special place in Hell for lowlifes like that if they don't repent someday.

What you say about the time and preparation; the fact that they are yours and you get a feel for your own equipment.

It's really neat of Skeeterjames to offer to let you use his equipment and others.

Something like that may want you to give up on something you love; I had a bunch of coins stolen that I collected; just wheat pennies. I really never collected coins again with the same fervor. I hope that does not happen to you and your fishing.

I would suggest filing a Police Report, it may help.

We'll all keep an eye out for your stuff. Maybe take them skiing with no ski's if you know what I mean.

Seriously, check your local pawn shops.

Check the flee market on seventh street road. I had 3 rod and reels stolen several years ago off the deck of my boat and when I filed the police report the officer told me to check that place. Luckly I was insured. You mentioned you lived in an apartment, your renters insurance may cover this. Good Luck!

**** sorry to hear that man!

I would definitely check out craigslist. I have heard of thieves being caught selling stolen merchandise before.

If someone was going to steal your stuff, better it be in the dead of winter than right here before the season really picks up.

I definitely feel for you and I hope that lowlife gets what he deserves

    Re: Fishing gear stolen

I'm not a cop or anything but I've heard tell that 9 times out of 10 people get ripped off by someone they've been acquainted with...it could be a close acquaintance (like a family member), or it could be someone who just see's you every now and then or knows your schedule or what ever.

Theives and Liars...can't figure out which one I dislike the most! Who ever it is that ripped you off, I hope they...well....it sure would be nice if they were removed from the gene pool.

Like someone else wrote....I bet a flea market would be a great place to find stolen goods for sale.
