baits for crappie

Goin crappie fishin at green river in a couple of weeks was wondering whats good to use there. i usually bass fish so this is new to me

Get some pink/white crappie tubes and red/white,fish them with a floater about 3 feet deep.Been catching them real good up in the river past plum point bridge in the stick ups.You shouldnt have any problem catching them.

I havent been up there yet but I wouldnt think you could get around the bend to get in the river with the lake level so low. I guess ya can so I might just try it with my pearl tubes.

When ever crappie fishin you always need to have some minnows just in case. If the fish are in 4ft or less you can't beat a popeye fished under a very small float. I always use natural colors so that the popeye will look like fry to a big hungry papermouth! Also use the two smallest sizes you can find, the slower it falls the better and then all you have to do is pop the float. Makes it look like a minnow hopping through the water.
