When ever crappie fishin you always need to have some minnows just in case. If the fish are in 4ft or less you can't beat a popeye fished under a very small float. I always use natural colors so that the popeye will look like fry to a big hungry papermouth! Also use the two smallest sizes you can find, the slower it falls the better and then all you have to do is pop the float. Makes it look like a minnow hopping through the water.
