How big is Backwaters? I drove past there and it seems like a very small store.
The store my seem small but you won't find a better selection of baits, rods, reels anywhere but Basspro. I would go to Backwaters or Sportsman Warehouse any day of the week. They are only a 10 minute drive apart from each other. Well worth the drive. Plus when you go there you support the little man.
Thank God!
This is a good thing, but Sportsmans will only survive if they will keep their inventory stocked. They do have a great selection and great prices. But when then were open it seemed to me that they rarely re-stocked the things they ran out of. So hopefully this time around it will be better managed.
They were good for Guns, Ammo and shooting supplies. After eating at a local restaurant it was good to swing by and check out some of their stuff but if I need tackle I'll buy it from John at Backwaters first. This is a good thing, but Sportsmans will only survive if they will keep their inventory stocked. I couldn't agree more. I live in Louisville, but I've been stopping in Backwaters when I'm down there visiting family. I noticed the exact same thing and asked one of the employees about the "stock" issues. The guy simply gave me the "the supply truck should be here later today" line...I kinda figured they were going out of business. Personally, I'll be VERY surprised if they re-open.This is a good thing, but Sportsmans will only survive if they will keep their inventory stocked. They do have a great selection and great prices. Sounds like Walmart with the stock, the three lures they have that everyone uses at the lake, will run out pretty fast, seems like the smart thing to do would be restock, but it usually takes a month it and by then its too late.
I'd be real happy to have them back, just for the sake of Guns, Ammo, and Reloading supplies....
For fishing gear, Backwaters it is.
