What a drag....set the hook and pow it busted above the handle. I still had the fish on and as I was pulling it in by hand it pulled free. Felt like a good fish.
I'll have to send it back I guess.

That stinks man! Talk about adding insult to injury......destiny could have at least let you land the fish.

When I loaded my boat I busted a bunk on the trailer but even with the busted rod and bunk I had a great time. I fixed the bunk so i can fish tomorrow and grabbed another rod off the rack in the garage so I'm ready!!!
Wow a GLX. That hurts. Ship it back and get another one.
if u dont want to take the time to do the shipping it to them and let them ship it back..... i have broke a few of my glx's and i do the expedited service...they overnight u a rod just like yours and take your credit card number and you have 30 days to send the broken rod back or they will simply just charge you the amount it cost for the rod. The expedited service cost 50 bucks but you arent down a rod in your arsenal for long....
Sure would be nice if a tackle shop could give you one from stock and they send it back fer ya! I know it doesn't work like that but with Loomis rods but doesn't it work that way with Shimano?
well. today i set the hook on a bass and proceeded to reel my strap that hung down around my neck from my hat onto the handle on my reel until it locked up...with bass still on!. i panicked and trolled on high to keep tension, but finally had to give up to undo the tangle. bass still on! and landed it! ...lol
Yep, had clients break 3 Cumaro's last season...had a new one in the boat that afternoon...no shipping and no 50.00. Just took it in to my local tackle shop and got another one off the rack.
Shimano and carrot stix both the same over the counter warranty. However, the $50 isn't too bad when you consider the cost of a new GLX. It stinks to have to pay it, but I am glad they offer something. I know I wouldn't be able to buy a new GLX if mine broke.
Just my gut feeling I don't think Shimano and others will keep that warranty for ever. I bet it will go something more like Loomis. Just my .02.
Got my new one in on Friday and man something about a new GLX rod that screams sweetness! Gonna try it in the morning!
Hope you kill em on it.
