BRL Report 4/1/10

I fish Southern Indiana and the jerkbait bite has been pretty good up here. I didn't see any mention of you throwing a jerkbait is the reason I posted. My son and I fished wind sweep main lake points on 4/1 throwing jerkbaits and had a 6# largemouth, 3.75 smallmouth and 2 other keeper LM in the 2.5 to 3 # range along with 5 or 6 short fish. Action wasn't real fast but the quality of fish was decent. Some of the points had rock and some were just clay. The smallie actually came off a clay point. The common denominator was deep water nearby. I always read your post because you give good straight info and I want to return the favor.

Yeah...I had heard that the fish were in the skinny water, so I didn't bother with jerks on main lake points. I guess I should have at least tried it, oh well. I figured with the water temps we have had down here lately, the fish should be well on the way to spawning, or at least getting ready. What were the water temps where you were fishing? I appreciate the gesture. Take care.
