Okay heres the lowdown, when she was a pup she would crap in his yard. He would complain then pile the crap on my driveway. I went and bought one of those electronic barriers, not a problem since last spring when she was pup. she wont go ove there now even with out the collar. A few weeks ago he complained that she had chewed on a tree branch in his yard.
This is a Chocolate Lab that belongs to my 7 year old. This morning I let the dog out to take a leak about 3-4am about 5 I here a solid crash, as I get up to let her in she all but knocks me down trying to get in the door and there he stands on the driveway telling me "Im gonna have to do something about my #$%^ she has woke me up every morning this week. She has barked at other cats and dogs in the neighborhood, hell shes a good watch dog. I make her come in with in a couple of minutes of the barking beacause I do respect my neighbors at least most of them.
He said when we first brought her home as a pup she was going to get too big and belonged on a farm. she is 75#'s and a great companion to a mentaly challenged child.
Needless to say I found where he or she one ran thru a piece of fence it was knocked down and the poles broke off in the ground also found a rock on the drive that im pretty sure he chucked at her.

I have a neighbor just like you! I keep my dog contained in my yard and his used to wake me up every night. I confronted him once and he said he moved to the country so he could have animals and I should deal with it. I did and now I sleep silently. Anyone missing a ( tabby ) that likes to crap in landscaping? If so he moved 2 counties over.

So when she was a pup, you used to let her poop in your neighbor's yard, and didn't clean up after her. I'm sure that made a wonderful first impression. Now, you're still letting her run around unsupervised for hours at a time, in the dark, but you say "she wont go over there now even with out the collar," which says to me you're letting her out without it. So how do you know she's not going over to his yard? She's a Lab; she's smart enough to know she's not going to get zapped without the collar on. Even with it on, a lot of dogs will run through it. Almost as important, under the law, that's not a fence. If your local ordinance says you have to have your dog fenced in, and it doesn't address electronic fences, than you are required to provide a physical fence, not an electronic one. Sorry Stoner, but based on what you have posted, it seems to me you're not acting responsibly where this dog is concerned.

All that said, your neighbor's beef is with YOU, not your dog, and no matter what's happened, he is entirely in the wrong coming onto your property and beating your dog, who is just doing what dogs do. Anybody who would take out their anger on a person's animals is beneath contempt.

OK I'm off the soapbox now... You originally asked what to do. I'd say do some research, check on what the local ordinances are, and make sure you're on the right side of them. If your neighbor attacks your dog again, defend your property as you deem necessary (remembering that, under the law, "property" is what dogs are), then call the cops.
