    Bluegrass

Fished loon for a little bit before work. Caught 8 fish one keeper at 4.7. Also one big ol fat snake on a rattletrap. I hate snakes so I cut the line and there went my favorite trap! Really windy but a great day to be out. Also met stevens who is a really great guy.

My brother has fished Bluegrass the last 3 days - a couple 3 lb bass , one nice 21" bass and lots and lots of wind . Got blown off the lake most afternoons . Said the place was packed today - saw Triton bass boats out on Otter puttin around . That pits almost to small for most rigs over 18' .

    Re: Bluegrass

Loon is a lot more along than bluegrass. Water temps are higher and fish were actually chasing bait down. Bluegrass seems to be a couple days behind loon if not more. I did have one problem today. I was fishing a area for awhile. Pulled the keeper and a few smaller fish off one ledge. Two guys crappie fishing pulled up right where I was casting and dropped anchor. They were within 40' of me. They asked how I was doing. I told them pretty good until you dropped anchor right on top of me. One guy said oh well and castes out his bobber. I buzzed a trap by both of them. I sure was trying to see how far I could put those hooks into their faces. I told them to learn some manners as I pulled into the area they were casting and blew it out. I HATE morons! It was all I could do not to pull the plug on their jon boat and toss it in the pit.

Id say you beat me today Justin.. I did catch about 15 but i was out there aaaall day. Finally got a keeper, 4.6lbs. They are about ready to spawn in some areas of Loon believe it or not. Not gona say where but its going to happen this week in places with the warm weather keepin up, I caught a couple males with red tails and the bigger females i've caught this week were right there with them. Its good to know Bluegrass isnt that far along tho, Loon warmed up waaay too quickly. It was 49 like a week ago lol

    Re: Bluegrass

I had some spots in the low 60's out there. And a lot of bloody tails too. Bluegrass is atleast a week behind. Where you saw me and those guys who parked on me they were stacked up and all bloody tails. I could see them coming out of the deep on to that shallow flat and back down again. Day or two more and it'll be crazy fun.

I may just have to give Loon and the others another try. It's been quite a while since I fished BG area at all. May just stick with the pits east of Elberfeld.

    Re: Bluegrass

I found warm water on Otter Pit. 64 deg F at the surface in the middle of the lagoon on the South End. Graphed a lot of fish but only caught a few small fish.

    Wind was awful Friday.

Anyone fishing in the rain today?

Should fish Loon pretty soon before it gets too hot. It got up to upper seventies yesterday at Bluegrass F&W area.
