Wilgreen panfish??

Are the crappie or big gills biting?? Wife wants to go out tomm afternoon for a while and catch some gills. What is the water temp and are the bass biting?? Plan on cranking while she casts out her bobber for gills.

Went to wilgreen today. Started at 8am left at 3pm. Crappies 7''-9'' were just starting to pick up at the dam. Fished about 5ft deep with minnows. Caught 3 smaller bass (9- 11 inches) on white twistertail grubs. Saw several larger bass swimming along the dam. The far corner near the fallen tree was the best area. The area just to the right of the bait house was full of gills as we were leaving. All in all a good day, but started too early. Fishing didnt pick up till about 1pm. Good luck.

Wife and I got there bout 2ish. Fished til 530 I lost my prop on the trolling motor so we headed back to the house. I was in the red Outlaw boat. I managed two short bass off a crankbait, wife and I caught several gills and a shad two gills were very nice. About four or five years ago I caught a 1lb 13oz crappie in front of the dam off a shad deep little N during a bass tournament. I plan on going back there next weekend and wearing them out.
