Fishing was slow. Heard it took 9lbs in FOP to win it. One guy in our club had 10lbs witha 6.68 LM on a shakeyhead. We fished bluff walls and had a few hits, but for Green it was a slowwww day. Finally found a shallow flat with 65 degree water and baitfish, caught a 2.5 on a swimbait (first ever). The lake was SLAMMED with boats...every bluff cut had a boat on it.
I was down 2 days this week an did'nt want to look to much like a "rookie" by saying I did'nt catch much after seeing that "would take 20 lbs to win all the tournaments" reply , but I found it hard to beleive there would be that much weight caught as hard as I fished to get what I did get. I could'nt beleive it's that tuff in April but ,hey, it's Kentucky fishing .The 4" swimbait was about the only thing I could get them to hit.Small fish on jig, shakeyhead .
Just came from green river. Been down there since Fri. Robinson Creek area. Caught alot of crappie, mostly throw backs. Alot of boats, not much going on Bass Fishing either, not what i expected anyway.I was down 2 days this week an did'nt want to look to much like a "rookie" by saying I did'nt catch much after seeing that "would take 20 lbs to win all the tournaments" reply , but I found it hard to beleive there would be that much weight caught as hard as I fished to get what I did get. I fished a small tourney yesterday. It took 19.11lbs to win and big fish was 7 even. I didnt have much at all 8lbs and some change. They didnt tell me where but they caught all their fish on senkos. The tourney I fished was just a few buddies, a little money and some braggin rights during dinner that nite. One thing about Saturday, IT WAS NUTS OUT THEIR!!!! I have never seen that many boats on Green. Not even close.
How did they fish the Senko, Wacky way or reg. ?I fished a small tourney yesterday. It took 19.11lbs to win and big fish was 7 even. I didnt have much at all 8lbs and some change. Thanks, Bob
It took over 20lbs to win our tournament and 19 took 2nd....heard the $1000 guaranteed tournament took 19 and change and several other bags over 16.....We had just under 10lbs and finished close to last in our tournament...We weren't on the quality of fish a lot of guys were but to say it was slow might be a little off
I was out today and caught several 3-4 pounders. Everything on cranks and spinners in the upper Robinson Creek area. Seen temps up to 68.7 degrees. Caught 4 Muskie by chance while bass fishing. I had to bring 2 of them in the boat to get my baits back. Does anyone know how to get muskie stink out of boat carpet?![]()
It took 13lbs to win the FOP tournament my partner had four studs and got the win. Fishing was very slow for us. We were able to scratch out 3 keepers on Friday, one nice fish about 4lbs. We found some kind of structure off a main lake point on Friday. We hit it early on Saturday and never got a bite, we fished all over the lake and couldn't put anything together. It was about 1 o'clock I had one bite all day and the bait was bigger than the fish. We went back to that point, we caught all four of our fish in about an hour and my partner had his line broke twice. We had six bites landed four and all the fish were quality fish around 3lbs apiece, one of the fish went close to 4lbs. At the weigh in we had 3 fish over 6lbs brought in and the big fish of the day was 6.42lbs
That's kinda the way it was with the fish I caught. When I'd catch a fish I would cast over and over and over at the same spot and wind up catching 2 or 3 quality fish at the same place. I'd return to the same spot a couple of hours later and there would be nothing else there.
I was there last Sunday and Monday; the front Sunday must have turned them completely off. Even the crappie fishermen was having trouble. I am glad to hear it sounds as if it has improved this week. I am going again the week after next.
