    Dix River Boat Access

i fished the "bottoms" i think they're called outside of Lancaster last year when the whites were running and noticed a bunch of guys coming up river in boats. I've got a tracker that would run that stretch nicely but was curious how to get in to it? From the KY river?
    thanks!

Put in at Bryants Camp and go left. Not much water at all on that end of the lake unless they have stoped pulling the lake, and with out the rain I still dont think you can even get close to Rankins Bottom. The last time I was on that end you could get to Murphys bottom which is still aways from rankins. 2 weeks ago, just past Bryants is was only a foot and a half deep.

You can only get a little ways up from the falls past Bryants. The water is shallow and you must be careful in the falls area or you will hit the big rocks on right going up. Only small whites have come this year in the headwaters because of the drawdown. Everyone must be careful up in headwaters this year. You can't get within 3 miles of Rankin's Bottom if you are boating up from Bryant's.

Thanks guys. I've heard it was pretty hairy at that end right now. Wonder how long they will be drawing it down.......

Well, if there are not above Bryants, then are that stacked up in the deeper water down stream from Bryants? How far down? I thought of putting in, say at Quinn Island and running up river. The area just down stream from Kings Mill is sometimes productive.
