haha i had a brain fart. My stepdad called it something else, some kind of automotive talk I was trying to remember.

yesterday my eagle quit working, checked the fuse OK, still dead, checked the terminals, nada, took the wire nuts off, rewired them , nothing. Took the unit and direct hooked ot to the battery, bingo.That fuse holder on the terminal was completly corroded. By then the sun was up, the boats were running, went back home. Knew it wasnt going to be a good day when I missed the turn to dalehollow state park, and needed to find a turn around, it didn't get better after that!

i found it. Right at the back next to the batterys the fuse holder was completly melted and melted the wire. Idk wat would of caused this but thats got to be the problem. If i splice it and it happens again than i know there is a short somewhere.

be carefull, my fuse holder on my merc melted, and burned up the harness, and shorted out the transducer on my lowrance.Over 4 hundred bucks damage, thankfully my boat ownewrs insurance covered all except 100 bucks. Been using state farm for almost 20yrs, and they wrote a check to me on the spot after calling the repair man.
