    Pro Qualifer

    Bought a new pro qualifer baitcaster at bps yesterday, Rated for 12lbs. Guy put 14lb. on it any problems?

    I wouldn't worry about it. I use 17 on mine and it's rated for 12 and haven't had any problems....you just won't be able to spool as much on there.

    Thank's Bass man, caught it on sale for 69.00, like the low profile and way it fit's in hand!

    no problem. I've had mine for a couple of yrs. now, and no problems so far.

    I didn't think baitcasters were really rated for any weight of line. I thought that was the reel capacity (for example it will fit 120 yds. of 12 pound line) - it may hold a little less of 14 and up.

    But they are pretty good reels - I have one of the first models when they went to the grey low profile, and it still works fine.

    Turn off all the internal magnets for longer casts. Smooth reel for the money!

    The Col is right, the rating is for line capacity meaning the amount of line you can spool on it based on the line poundage. I have several Pro Qualifiers and had no problems.

    Thank's Guy's, Fishincreek, I haven't had a chance to use it yet, but I had staggared 2 of the mag's, I will release them. Appreciate it.
