2 Cycle Oil - Help

Try some of the Walmart oil versus Pennsoil xlf & you'll be able to tell the difference.

Most of your major brands of oil that follow the spec necessary for your engine (TCW3, etc) will work just fine. However, I would never put a private label brand in anything I own. In a recent test conducted on 20 private label brands, 18 of them failed the spec on the label. I run into this type stuff all the time in my line of work whether it is for a big heavy duty peice of equipment, passengar car or boat. Many of these smaller guys are in some cases bath tub blenders if you will. There only concern is making the cheapest product they can.

I bought a new Optimax back in 2004 and I have run nothing but Valvoline 2-cycle in it. I take it every couple years to have it checked out etc and the mechanic wanted to know what oil I was using because the spark plugs where exceptionally clean. I'm sure there are other major brands that will work fine as well.
