KY Lake Elite Series

I have a question for some of you local guys. My family and I are planning to be there that week for some fun fishing and just family time. I wasn't aware that I had booked this the same week as the Elite Series tourn. until recently. We're staying mid-lake area. Is it nuts on the water the week of these things or no big deal. Also, what is their practice days and off limits times?

I believe they'll start practice on Sunday and end practice on Tuesday. Someone correct me if I'm wrong but I think the actual tournament will be Wednesday - Saturday instead of the traditional Thursday - Sunday.

The Elite Series Tx on KY Lake is the 9th-12th.....that lake is big enough that you won't know the difference....except around the launch area. It was out of Paris Landing last year and will be again this year.

I agree with lroberts - unless you're using the same ramp as the Elites (or one close by) you really won't notice them. There are many tournaments going on at that lake at any given time. Our club had our tournament on KY lake at the exact same time as the Elites last year and the lake was just as crowded as any other day of the week. Stay away from Paris at their take-off and weigh-in times and you should be fine.

I think most of the elite series guys will be on south Kentucky lake. Based on the way the lake has produced over the last year or two, I think very few if any pros will go north of bloodriver.

I will be there too at that time and don't expect to see anything different. One of the things I will do that time of year is try to fish the evenings a little more when the tournament guys are long off the water.

Yeah, youll just see a parade of boats fly by once in a while. Its not a big deal tho, most of the time you wont even know they are there

The Triton Owners Tournament is the weekend before the Elites come there (and was last year too)....its a neat time to to meet and greet the pros that have Tritons. Klein, Rowland, Skeet, Zona, Swindle and others are ones I met last year. Got a cool pic with Zona.

We had a tournement there at the same time last year, which was the practice time for the FLW guys, there were more of those guys out in front of Little Bear and Jonathan creeks...We were there 4 days and the only B.A.S.S guy we saw was Steve Kennedy.
