I heard they drained the lake.
we just got back on monday.. we caught fish everywhere, our bigger fish came off offshore structure at the mouths of creeks.. north sauty creek was the best... just watch your depth finder and when u get in 5 foot or less of water in the mouth of the creeks on the edge of the channel start fishing a c rig with a lizzard or worm. we averaged 30-50 a day... try and find shell beds and grass too out in open water or off points and fish them too....
Ryan- where you finding them along a weedline at the mouth, were you throwing into the weeds. I was in that creek last May and grass existed in certain areas. I was never sure if people were dragging big c-rigs and worms through the vegitation or paralleling the l weed lines. I seemed to have a hard time getting the rig through the vegitations so tended to fish topwaters above it.we just got back on monday.. we caught fish everywhere, our bigger fish came off offshore structure at the mouths of creeks.. north sauty creek was the best... just watch your depth finder and when u get in 5 foot or less of water in the mouth of the creeks on the edge of the channel start fishing a c rig with a lizzard or worm. we averaged 30-50 a day... try and find shell beds and grass too out in open water or off points and fish them too....
please oh please dont forget a chrome blue back red eye shad. run it fast and rip it hard thru the grass. its cliche, but it produced mounds and mounds of fish for me this time last year in and around sauty. good luck!
