I have a copy and it is an eye opener, even for someone who has covered all of this.

Funny part, this was published back in 2000. It has an entire chapter about Marvin Stone so UK and U of L fans can relate.

After you finish this book you will want the NCAA to not allow schools to take shoe company money and you will want the AAU tourneys and summer camps to be a dead period for recruiting.

Yea I've read some stuff on this in the past and Nike is dirty to the Core. Also this AAU stuff is out of control. Noland Smith was considering Duke already because of his ties to father figure Johny Dawkins, but really wanted to play where his Dad did at UofL and his mind was all but totally made up. After the AAU tourney he was in and two or three bull sessions with the coach on his given team he suddenly Loves Duke and was really going there all the time, oh well.


Here's another interesting thought....If coaches like Calipari make there bread and butter with one and done's how will this play out with the new rule set forth by the NCAA. The graduation rate is what I'm referring to. If all your players play one year and leave how is this going to affect the graduation rate at such school......adversily ...right??

Mark, I am still trying to figure out the whole graduation rates.

Also, I wrote about Nolan Smith when he was playing in the double chessebruger All-American game that was played in Freedom Hall that year. Honestly, I think Louisville fans spread a lot of misinformation about Nolan when he made his choice to go to Duke. I will just leave it at this: I honestly do not think there was anything shady going on with Nolan Smith. I hated it, because I wanted him to be a Card, but it is what it is. Correct as long as a student athelete continues to go to school up to the time that they are drafted. Then such said student athelete's scores/grades will not count towards the schools overall graduation rate for atheletes. But if a student athelete fails to continue his classes as required, then it will have an adverse effect on the schools atheletic programs scolarships.
