I would shop around and find a curado in that range - you won't be disapointed.

Shimano crestfire $49.99 got 2 that are 15 years old. BEST REEL FOR THE MONEY!! think about it I can wear out 4 ( which would take 40 years or longer at the rate they last ) for what you spend for '1' $ 200 hundred what ever reel !!!!!!!!!!!!

gonna have to agree with the guys that said shimano....you can find a curado in the range or a citica for under 100....hard to beat the funcionality and durability of the shimanos

Hard to beat Shimano! Curado if you get a good deal, Citica would be my choice for the best bang for the buck.

well, bass master magizine had a reel rod and tackle edition a few months back, and for the money the new shimano curado e series is the best reel when comparing value to performance.

Caught the pro qualifier(PQX10HD) on sell the other day for 69.00 and teamed it with the new bps 7' carbonlite rod, I've fished old abu's reel's that weigh more than than this combo combined! Very happy with this rig.

just remember when getting a reel to buy one that fits your needs. if your going to tx fish and you throw cranks and such, a few ounces can make a big diffrence when you do it for 8hrs or more a day. you will get alot of diffrent opinions that are valid, but for tx fishing and the best all around gear/wgt/bearing/ ratios. i would go with a curado e. although i like the looks of that revo reel, i have not had the chance to try one out yet.

Re: Best baitcaster for the money

I thought that reel you have, the pro qualifier, felt like the revo. It even looks like one. I bought a bps carbon light and it feels sweet. We will see how it holds up. I have a few curados and they have lasted over the long haul. Shimano would be my pick if you got the cash. Sometimes you just can't spend that extra 40-50 bucks, that will buy more tackle or a half tank of gas.
