    10.5 Largemouth out of Barkley?

This past week I was in the Cabin's new tackle store in Kuttawa (it's a lot bigger than their previous store) and the owner said he caught a 10lbs - 5oz. largmouth on Lake Barkley this past wek and was going to post some pictures of it in the store. Has anyone seen or also heard of this fish??

I got a 26" 10lb Largemouth out of Cumberland about a month ago and heard the next week of a 10.4lb that came out of Harmon Creek on Cumberland. I've hooked 4 fish this year in excess of 8lbs that were lost beside the boat. One was 9+ largemouth in January on the FNF. Cumberland has really come on the couple of years with big fish. I caught 2 spots last year over 5lbs!

I would guess that it's the much larger bait fish that account for much of this. There are lots of 5-7"n shad in there now. It's amazing to seen just how many and how big they are when you put ot a light.

That was Wayne Winters - he caught it last week. The crazy part about it, is the fish had already spawned out. I wonder what it would have weighed a week earlier - probably closer to 12+. I fish with him/against him regularly in a small bass club - I'm just glad he gets it all out of his system during the week, and not during tournament time. J/K he is a heck of a fisherman.

Wayne is a heck of a guy. I had heard that most of the biggest fish down there had already spawned. I bet that thing would have been around 12.

I'm not sure with a fish that big.. I think normally when i catch a big one thats about to bust it weighs a 1/2lb to 1lb more than it normally would. Not as much as you would think by looking at them. But hey, congrats on a monster fish bassen. Do you have a picture by any chance, I would love to see her!

Congratulations again Wayne...glad I was able to get by the store yesterday and personally congratulate you.

Those big fish normally spawn in late March and very early April...depending on water temps.
