Plan on hitting Wilgreen early Wed for bass. How is the bite??? I am guessing some are locked on the beds but I am going to try my luck anyhow

Id go somewhere else! Just not a big fan of Wilgreen. I was there about one and a half weeks ago when temps were hot and caught a few. They were scattered some right on banks and some off of it a ways. I would go to the river if I were you though.

Just got back a few hours ago. Got there around 645 in the morning with a thick fog. No takers on topwater, cranks or plastics or chatterbait. Did not get my first fish in the boat until 9AM. VERY SLOW!! Fish are spawning/fanning behind the docks but did not see any around the main lake. I would say most have already spawned out there or are staging to do so. I managed three short bass in 4 hours of fishing all off cranks and ended up buying some redworms and bringing home 18 very nice bluegill and 3 shellcracker. Seen some older gents tearing up crappie and I seen a floater crappie with the tail chewed off that would have very easily beem over 2 Lbs swimming. Overall started slow but had a blast with the ultralight with 4Lb test and drag peeling with big gills in the grass.

Man I used to fish the heck out of Wilgreen and loved it! The last time I was there (several years ago) I was fishing by myself around 1 or 2 in the morning and meteor hit the water about fifty feet behind me! Scared the you know what out of me!

HAHA!!! I have trolled along the bank during the week at night with the lake all to myself and spooked up a Herring. Talk about crapping your pants!!!
