    Arizona Immigration Law

This is becoming a major battle and its typical special interest groups voicing their opposition even when their wrong (IMO). I hope Arizona holds their ground.

    Re: Arizona Immigration Law

Im not sure how I feel about this one yet and Im leaning towards opposing it.

One thing I know for sure is that the fed has really FAILED this country when it comes to protecting our borders. Something needs to be down NOW!

However, in AMERICA, Im not looking forward to "brownshirts" asking for your "papers" as they did in Germany after WWI and before WWII.

I think I have a solution. Come to think of it, I think China had the same idea nearly THREE THOUSAND YEARS ago. Build a big wall with guard stations every mile or two (closer together in "high traffic" areas and further apart in remote areas). These guard stations will be staffed with armed guards ordered to shoot and kill any invading enemy combatant. Yes, IMO most of these people are enemy combatants.

I saw a picture the other day that made my blood absolutely boil. It was a highschool in California where students, mostly Mexican had rioted. They pulled down the American flag off the pole, raised the Mexican flag and then raised the American flag upside down underneath the Mexican flag...on AMERICAN soil. Needless to say, if I went to that high school I would have stood under that flag and defended her with my life. And you know what, my wife would have been right there beside me even though she is hispanic not even born in this country. She is one of the few immigrants these days that really appreciate how great America is.

I don't think it will get to the level of "brown shirts" coming to check your papers.

Most everyone I've talked to about this feel it will be enforced like a secondary offense in most cases. Right now, they cannot even ask your status. With this law, they will a least be able to ask if someone is illegal when they get pulled over or whaterver.

Personally, I have NO PROBLEM with this.

Better yet,. put it RIGHT on your drivers license..........EVEN BETTER.......How about a National ID CARD.

If you are here illegal..........get your BUTT OUT.........I'm tired of paying for freeloaders, and Illegals are the WORSE KIND........

At least the scumbag freeloading welfare pukes are citizens.......BUT on another note......I'd gladly trade their citizenship for an illegal willing to work........HM......

    Later,

    Geo

    Re: Arizona Immigration Law

Geroge pretty much nailed down a lot of what I think about this deal...I don't want to hear a bunch of crap about racial profiling or anything like that. It is what it is...I'm a white boy, it's highly unlikely that anyone will ever suspect me of being anything other than a born and raised American. Bust as for the mexicans or whatever other nationallity or race the illegals in this country are, by golly there's proof in the pudding, there's a bunch of them here living illegally...heck it's all over the news, fishin' chat boards, conversations with business associates, family, etc.

If you're of a foriegn decent living here legally and you feel that random checking of identification upsets you or spoils your pinto's, all I can say is get over it QUICK....and talk to your brothers and sisters and tell them to step up to the plate and do the right thing here in the United States, which for one would be to learn our language and speak it fluently (first and foremost), secondly pay taxes like the rest of us. After these two things are taken care of come and see me and we'll talk about this new Arizona Law.

I will have disagree with you George, Im sure in 1920, no one predicted what would happen just ten years later either. I'm not saying this bill is anywhere near that either, and I hate to use the slipper slope fallacy but those that forget history tend to repeat it as well.

No national ID card for me either. In my eyes a national ID card only grows the federal government and that is a complete 180 of what I want.

Chubminnow, your comment is so much full of ******** and ignorance I shouldnt even be wasting my time to respond. However I pity you for having such little experience in the real world to think all illegals are Mexican. Obviously they are a majority due to them being so close geographically but there are MANY illegals of European decent. In fact there is a large community of Russian/Ukrainian of them right here in Louisville.

Also because I feel your last paragraph was directed at me, I will GLADLY take you up on your offer. We can meet over a beer and discuss immigration, different cultures, and AMERICA. I love this land more than my own life and enjoy discussing what America IS with anyone that would listen.

I don't think we are gonna have police officers running around harassing folks but now they can legally ask for I.D. in situations they could not before. I haven't read the law but I like the fact that we are getting things done.....finally!
    Gotta start somewhere!!!

You better make sure you're fully awake the next time you read my post. I didn't say ALL Mexicans are illegal, nor did I imply that all people of foriegn decent living here are illegal. For the one's who are living here legally such as yourself...talk to the one's you know and tell them to get it right.

Pot calling the kettle black? I never said that you said all Mexicans are illegal. Also you do realize that there is no way you can be of foreign decent (meaning your parents/ancestors were not born here) and illegal right? When you are born here, you are a citizen, period.

I was born in this country. I will die here. My parents were born here and other than my mom's mom, all other were born here for a few more generations.

I am very very against illegal immigration. I want it stopped, NOW. I want a big wall on both of our borders and and I want immediate deportation of known illegals.

What I do not want is a violation of the 4th and 5th Amendments. Even if this law doesnt will not apply to me in any way, ANY law that violates the Constitution does.

This is a land where you are innocent until proven guilty, a land where you have the right to refrain from self incrimination. A land that protects you from unreasonable searches and seizures. The 4th Amendment even specifically states "The right of the people to be secure in their...PAPERS...from unreasonable searches and seizures."

Because I know youre going to say it and most ignorant people do...yes the Constitution covers illegal immigrants. I may not necessarily agree with that but being illegal is the same as any other crime and if you commit any other crime, you dont lose your Civil Rights (except for the 2nd Amendmant which is utter BS but thats another story).

To sum it all up and to not be too cliche, I am not willing to sacrifice my liberty in order to determine who is a criminal and who isnt.

Build a wall and immediate deportation NOW!

Nuff said...ain't got time for any more B.S. on this subject other than the fact I like what Arizona is saying they're gonna do.

Let's see where it goes, like DJD said, gotta start somewhere.

At least one state stepped up! Now the ball is rolling and let's hope that other states keep it rolling.

    Re: Arizona Immigration Law

Wrong means to the right ends. The law will not pass constitutional muster IMO but may serve to spark other reforms that will actually have a positive effect.
