    Angry State budget

The state of Ky again failed to reach a budget, so now we, state employees have received an email stating that if no budget is reached then some services and employees will have to be cut. I for one cannot afford to be cut, I just recentally split with my fiance of nine yrs and the financial strain is put a hurting on me, but anyway we need to vote these d******s out of office, they cannot reach a budget as they have to many chiefs and not enough indian, we have an election coming up soon and these legeslators need to receive a message if you will not work for the people then you are fired. simple. Just had to blow off steam with this, at least I can still fish.

Bobby, I'm sure you're a fine individual but as a taxpayer supporting all the government employees it is my firm belief that the government payroll needs to be cut in half.

I have no idea by what department or agency you are employed but the government "workers" I have had the displeasure to encounter should all be canned. The bureaucracy is bloated and the benefits are way out of proportion to the private sector.

Sorry if you take my post the wrong way, but heck, something has to give.

    Re: State budget

I work in the PRIVATE sector..........No raise last year, NO raise this year........probably no raise NEXT YEAR.

Times are tough all around. Many friends laid off this year due to the "NEW WORLD ORDER".

Sorry that they failed to reach an agreement....but maybe that is a good thing. Like others have said here.....Our government is BLOATED and costs joe taxpayer way too much.

Seems everyone in the PRIVATE sector is cutting jobs to be lean, mean and profitable. With ALL those cuts, there is LESS money for services. BUT I've not seen anything about any government service layoffs.........ANYONE else heard of any??

    Later,

    Geo

No matter what part of the work force you're in, private, public, government or otherwise, not to many folks can afford to be cut. It's usually never a good time for anyone who's being let go. But look on the brightside..."change" (I use the term loosely and by no means am I referencing Nobama)...any how, "change" is usually good. I look back through my own life and career and see that even though there were times that I was on shakey ground, all in all when everything was said and done, change ended up being good for me. Divorced my first wife, BAM good change....met my second wife, BAM good change...went from job #1 to #2 and #3, BAM, BAM, BAM...It was all change for the better. Right now Bobby you're definitely not in this boat by yourself. I myself am standing on shakey employment ground....I'm employed TODAY, but I can't say what the future holds for me 30 days down the road. This economy is NOT getting better, not that I can see anyway. I'm not saying it's getting any worse but I don't see it getting better yet either. Plus we all oughta know that after this economic slump we're in right now comes to a head and turns around, it will NOT be business as usual or like what it used to be. I sincerely believe this to be true.

Now to get a wise crack response in....pretty soon it won't matter if anyone gets laid off or not cause Nobama is gonna make sure we're taken care of with free healthcare and whatever other program he dreams up.

    Re: State budget

My dept is not Bloated and not all government employees get great benifits. I as a worker hav seen my benifits and pay decrease every year. Yes Tyme there is some things that need to be cut but not all. I work with food benifits and medicade, there needs to be cuts there as we are paying out the yazzoo for illegals. Also not all gov employees are rich like bureucrates in Frankfort. I for one would be bankrupt if I lost this job at this time, the cut sneed to start at Frankfort instead of the worker. Tyme I pay taxes too so I do pay my salary, TYme not all goverenment workers need canned, some of us do important jobs, contrady to the info you have received we are not payed that well, I make 29975.00 a yr right now, I have been with the state 10 yrs.But enough of this.
