Ohio River Report, Markland Pool

I could not get away long enough to get to KYL this week so I went to the river today and put in near Warsaw. Water temp on the surface was 62 when I departed this afternoon.

I found very little in the creeks other then Mud. I did pick up a nice 3.8 largemouth in craigs creek on a spinnerbait.

The lipless crank bite on the main river was on if you could find the right intersection of current from the creek vs. the main river. I boated about 30 on this pattern but 20 of them were strippers. Had one striper exceeding 7lbs.

Fun day just to be out! Never know what you will catch on the Ohio. Continues to surprise me.

Ran into some guys pre-fishing for a tournament yesterday that goes out of bigbone today. Not sure how long it lasts but you might find out. I try to avoid the area when a tournament is on.
