We just got back from a week on Barkley. Rain and Extreme wind!!! The Color was was fine with the best clarity being on The LBL side. The numbers and size came from the north. The souther area seemed alot dirtier and we struggled and the biggest was a 4.9 out of donaldson but Linton produced more fish. But all of our #'s came from eddy creek north mainly 3 and 4's and a lot of short fish. But other guys staying at our motel were really struggling and I told them all my fish came from the bush and they went in and had 2 6's a day and lost 1 over 7-8lbs. I put them on fish and they tore them up and we just did OK, figures...
Presure from boats wasn't a issue but the wind was and you had to fish slow. First and second row of bush. 1 of 3or 4 pockets had fish active. Soft plastics and a spinnerbait was all ya needed. Jig bite came into play as well the last two days. If the wind would have went away and sun stayed out all week we would have tore it up. Wind and cold made it miserable. Lake came up perfect and then the weather kicked us in the teeth. When i left this morning in the pouring rain, I looked at Kuttawa and Licking creek from highway and it was starting to look like Chocolate Milk!
