Well, the life i love living on my favorite stretch of water has come to end. The house which is raised 6 feet off of the ground has about 4 feet of water inside and the back is collapsing. I was only able to get out a basket of clothes and some pictures. We didn't think the water was going to make it that high, but the railroad bridge just downstream of the house got backed up and the water rose higher than expected. Oh i did grab my vintage reel collection which is a plus because two of my grandfathers reels were in it. On top of it all i have been trying to get flood inusrance with no luck for the past couple months so i get to start all over. Oh well i am thankful that my neighbors and i are safe and we will see what happens. I know the landlord won't be rebuilding where i was so i will be looking for a new place. It just really ***** because i was looking so forward to a great summer on the creek again, but god has reasons for everything so i will hope for the best and move on!!
