Is anybody fishing this week, I'm off wed - fri and was planning on fishing. But now don't know. are any of you gonna try it. I want to go but if it's stupid dangerous I better stay home. But if the fish are shallow, It would be cool to catch one in a parking lot or off of a big oak tree.
Dave if you read this, when are you going back to guiding. Are you taking the week off.

Actually I guided yesterday and will be guiding today on Ky Lake. I don't want any part of Barkley right now. On Ky Lake the main lake is muddy...muddier than I can remember ever seeing it...also lots of debris. But, creeks on west side are stained and on east side bays are slightly stained (as of yesterday). My clients did fine yesterday with about 40 bass...father and young son...son had biggest at 5.5 lb. If wind forecast holds for Wednesday..probably won't do that day...big winds from south gonna make it dangerous with all the debris out there.
Dave, I,m suppose to be down there sun. Paris end of ky lake are the bays down there muddy ?
Just talked to a buddy who was down there through last weekend and left on monday. Sunday and Monday they were flippin into the middle of bushes and trees and knockin em dead. He said you couldnt get but a few bits if you did the perimeter, but as soon as you let one into the dead center of the cover you were draggin out a hoss. He was flippin a Bass Pro Beaver Bug in Green Pumpkin and Watermelon on a 3/4oz tungsten T-rig...
I was on ky sunady as the water was coming fater then I ever saw and we caught fish. They where on fire the bigger ones would bite just had ti find them as far as just catching a fish seems anywhere you went you could catch them I was there for 4 days and probably caught nearly 500 fish and after I found a keeper pattern seems easier to catch also. Just have to watch the current and the waves as Saturday was extremely dangerous.
Water on Ky Lake continues to rise...7 ft over summer pool right now and projected to be 10 ft over by midnight Thursday. It is dangerous to run anywhere near the main river channel with the high current and heavy debris...there is debris everywhere too of course....bays water clarity still good but not sure how long that will last. Problem is finding a ramp you can launch...they are gong under water. Bass fishing remains good but you really need to be careful....wind tomorrow from the south....gusts to 25mph....no way I am going to be out there on that.
That settle's it. Stay home tomorrow, maybe try Thurs. Fri.
thanks Dave
Mr Stewart,
Long time reader fist time post. Planning trip Thursday 5/6 and again 5/8 to KY. Which ramps would you suggest? I am aware BFL is still on. Thanks for you input.
Kentucky Lake is closed to recreational traffic - I talked to the Coast Guard myself - and I heard that the BFL is cancelled. FYI
I am sitting here at home out of business....lake is closed
