marina is closed. I'm not sure about chowning and van buren. Possum ridge is usuable but the docks are floating about 50 ft out. The lake is about 20-23 ft above. LOTS of floaters. it will take a couple weeks to get back to normal

anyone have any pics of how high t-vill is right now? i can remember several years ago wanting to go fishing real bad and hooked up the boat headed out. it had been raining several days in a row like we just had.
drove down to the boat ramp farthest from the ramp, not chowning, but the next one down, uggh can't remember the name.
anyway, the road was blocked off, but you could see the water level was all the way up past the parking lot (which was simply amazing for me to see) and up to the road leading down into the parking lot.
anyone have any reports of the water levels out of t-ville? just curious to see how high it raised?

Did you all know that Taylorsville was born in a flood? Back when it was first made and they closed the dam they tought it would take about 18 months to fill it up. However, it flooded that year and the lake filled up in a matter of a couple of weeks. We were very anxious to get out on the lake. A friend and I took his boat up to the Van Buren Ramp. The road to the water just deadended in water and the ramp and the parking lot were under. We just turned around and used the road as a ramp. We went out and were the only boat on the water just exploring the lake. Then the motor quit. We paddled over to another old roadway on the side of the lake. Tied the boat to a gaurdrail and hitched back to the truck. By then it was late to we went home thinking we would get the boat in the morning. We got back around noon and the lake had already dropped 15 or more feet. The boat was sitting in the middle of the road tied to the guardrail. It was a real chore loading that boat on the trailer from dry roadbed. I guess that could have been the early 80s or late 70s.
According to lake levels on this site it is 24' above summer pool.
Any updates on Taylorsville? I see they are dropping it pretty good... Is this making teh muddy water worse or better? Are teh floaters getting better or worse?
Let's just say it's high enough to have ruined my plans for yesterday's turkey hunt.
Fished it Saturday from 7am till 2pm without a single bite. Put in at possum ridge and
run up to chowning which was completly under water. Went back down towards main
lake and went up towards the dam and fished coves. Only thing I accomplished was
using 1/2 tank of gas and running down my TM batteries in the high wind.
