Well, we're going to be there the 13th through 16th. At this point we're still planning on going, but we'll postpone if the lake remains closed after the twelth.
Thats the same dates Im supposed to be there. I like fishing the lakes when they are flooded, but I also like camping on dry land. Will probably still go if possible.

Unbelievable!!!!! Everyone does need to remember even when going out on the water at normal pool. SAFETY FIRST!!!! This is the number one thing that I preach to my kids when I take them fishing. Believe it or not I have a 5 and 7 year old boys that tell me to put my life jacket on before starting the motor.

Re: Kentucky and Barkley CLOSED until at least Monday nite

I was on KY Lake today, dropped in at KY Dam and Village and ran down to the 68/80 Bridge. At the ramp, I had to drop my boat in the water in the parking lot. I literally turned around and backed it straight into the water, beached it, and pulled 30 feet forward and parked. Everyone had to do that today. Got the Coast Guard message, went back to the ramp. The entire lake is off limits. First offense = $1000 fine, 2nd offense = $3000 fine.. if you're dumb enough to keep going, it tops out at $32,500.

I had a tournament coming up this weekend, as did the big railroad tourney guys. One guy was pulling in as I was leaving and he had just drove 5 hours to a closed lake As far as lake conditions go; the lake is EXTREMELY muddy and EXTREMELY dangerous to travel. I only go 44 mph tops and I was dodging trees left and right on the main lake channel. Reportedly, the CG has found cow carcasses floating and 40 ft. telephone poles floating. The creeks/bays weren't dangerous from what I saw, but the CG guys said that both lakes are a restricted area for recreational boaters. I hate this as much as everyone else, but just figured I would pass on all of the info I have.
