The baileys point ramp and beaver creek are both open with out turn arounds but that could change any minute. I would call before coming down and plan on idling everywhere and working on your prop when you get home.

Thanks. Is there anyone or an agency to call about ramps before I spend extra gas money dragging a boat down from Louisville ? Any help appreciated !
Im sure teh corps has a number somewhere.
Corps Of Engineers at Barren is: 270-646-2055.
Grumpy
well, i live within 100 yards of beaver creek boat ramp. yes, the ramp is open. however i would suggest you look at the pics i posted yesterday, barren river lake pics 1 and 2. unless you have a barge or a battle ship with re-inforced hulls i would not even think about putting in at this lake right now. there is stuff floating and suspended at all levels in the lake right now.
That is probably good advice. Thanks ! Do you see anyone attempting to fish now ? I would probably launch and troll around and not attempt a run. Just need to shake some cabin fever.

The Beaver Creek boat ramp is CLOSED, at least it was Thursday @ 4:30 PM when I was there. Water was barely down below where you enter the parking lot from the boat ramp side. Tape was across the boat ramp lane, and there was an orange highway type divider standing there. You couldn't launch there regardless because of all the debris.
How is teh water level downstream form teh dam? Is it still high in BG??? And teh million dollar question...any word on when they wll start drawing the lake down a little?
there was just a small flow in the tail waters Thursday, not even enough to be turbulent.
just because the tape and cones are up at beaver creek boat ramp does not mean you cannot launch. they have that in place because it is the ramp that most people drive into the lake apparently not knowing it enters the water. beaver boat ramp has not been closed, at least via the operator at the core on thurs and friday. i asked why the cones were up as well thinking it must be closed and the operator gave me the above info.
hope this helps
You need to check again. There are barrels and huge orange barricade at the end of the parking lot where you turn into the ramp. joel is correct. checked this am on my way in from work. as he stated there is now the huge orange closed due to high water barracade. looks like the trash has washed into the ramp area again as well. i hope this clears up soon as the fishing fever is killing me.
