    Red Lights

I got this Youtube link in an email and had to post it. This is why, when I am stopped at a Red Light, when the light turns green, I never start through until I am sure they all stop in the other direction. KY Finally passed a Distracted Drivers Law, which bars texting and other things while driving but not Cell Phone use and that is where I believe most of the problems are coming from. 95 percent of the time when I see someone run a Red Light they have one hand or the other next to their ear and are on a Cell Phone. Be alert and becareful:

thats a scary reminder to always watch your own driving and everyone elses because you might be the only one paying attention.
BTW, i wonder to what extent the injuries were for the guys iding motorcycles ? my guess is that they did not turn out good

I think you are right about the Motorcyclists. I will never understasnd why KY repealed the Helmet Law. I am glad to wear my seat belt and I have never figured out why someone thinks that skin and hair are thicker then the body of a car.

Good video Grumpy. Most of those bad drivers just flat out ram right into others. I mean are they even looking where they are driving? We have a new law up here not allowing drivers to use cell phones at all when driving. I have seen people doing their office paperwork in the car as they are driving downtown where it is really busy. I have seen women putting on makeup while driving and people eating and drinking while driving and talking to people in the back seat. What a bunch of idiots. As soon as I see them I get far away from them.

Yup, you do see it a lot. When I used to drive around downtown a lot, I can't tell you how many times I saw people run red lights, especially within a second or two of them turning red. So now I do like Grumpy; especially at intersections where you can't see far around the corner, I wait a second or two after the light turns green, then creep into the intersection until I'm sure it's safe. But on a lot of those videos, there wasn't anything the person getting hit could have done, unless he had one of those buttons on his steering wheel like Speed Racer used to have.

I risk my life 2 times a day EVERY weekday when I cross the **** street at 1st and Main. THAT corner, as well as 4 or 5 others in the downtown area are HORRIBLE.

I have no problem putting up cameras and throwing those **** light runners in jail with bubba for a night or two.

    Later,

Hey that helmet law is a good thing, you shouldn't be forced to wear one. I also shouldn't be forced to keep brain dead people alive. Besides some of them make good organ donors.

    Re: Red Lights

I certainly agree with all motorcycle riders wearing helmets. Its been the law here in Canada for so long its hard to imagine not having it. Its like in the old days hockey players never wore helmets and then it became manditory for them to always wear helmets. Saves on injuries. Even the hard core bikers that I see now and again always wear helmets. They look like something from Hitlers army but they always wear them. Helmets prevent head injuries during accidents and doesnt tax the health care system. Its a positive all around. I am surprised to hear the States dont have them. Now that is a surprise.

I don't stop at as many read lights as I used to. Most don't take credit cards anymore.
