If you have never fished it now is not a good time to learn it. but it is very fishable right now, has good color, not alot of trash floating, they are not pulling it right now due to the Green river levels, but when they do then it will get trashy and muddier. Fished a tourney there Sat, the fish were scattered caught fish shallow and deep. It is a trip to catch a fish in someones backyard!. The bite was fickle Sat as the cold front had them messed up somewhat. It is mostly a flipping plactics bite at this time.Could not get a spinnerbait bite going and I guess the front shut down what little topwater bite was on. It is a long back down the State park ramp but you can launch there easy. Be safe.

    Re: Conditions at Rough

Kind of in teh same boat, Havent fished at Rough in years but I am gong fishing this week one way or another, and since Barren is basically shut down, I am lookin at rough as an alternative. I have a well marked map with depth contours and some memories to guide me. So the state ramp is open... is there any parking or is it all under water? Is flippin a Jig going to be as productive as flippin plasitc???

Your map will not help you at this time as all the good off shore structure is way to deep to fish, but it will let you know where the original bank is. All reports I have heard is that the bite was soft plastic, but that can change, they are expecting rain in this area all week long with strong storms possible,if we get another heavy rain then all things will change. These fish are really scattered and the bite is soft and lax on the fishesd part, some were hammering it but the most were just "mushy bites" I had severl slot sized fish but no keepers, lost a good spot and also a keeper Sat. If it warms up the buzz bait and frog bite might kick in.
