    Vote 'Em Out!!

Hopefully, it has started. From NewsMax.com:

"SALT LAKE CITY – Republican Sen. Bob Bennett was thrown out of office Saturday by delegates at the Utah GOP convention in a stunning defeat for a once-popular three-term incumbent who fell victim to a growing conservative movement nationwide.

Bennett's failure to make it into Utah's GOP primary — let alone win his party's nomination — makes him the first congressional incumbent to be ousted this year and demonstrates the difficult challenges candidates are facing from the right in 2010."

Republican or Democrat--Vote all Incumbants out!! Maybe the next bunch will learn to listen to the people.

I'm all for a house cleaning.also term limits for ALL federal elected offices. No elected rep or senator would be allowed to work as a lobbyist for at least 5 yrs after leaving office. All elected persons should be forced to go on social security, and be subject to the terms of that program. These people should be informed of the fact that they ASKED to work for us, not us work for THEM. In early greece it was the duty of citizens to serve government. But the big problem we have is that bureaus some how got into law making, that wasn't the intent of a democratic government.Next we need to start teaching civics again in all our schools, and ETHETICS in business schools.Patriotism should be valued over personal gain, but that Utopian ides would never fly.Religion should be taught in church, or the home, not in public schools.

I think what Margie was asking is if we can vote "no confidence" and hold an early election, like they did in Canada in 2008. They have a parliamentary system, similar to England's, where they can do that. To answer your question, Margie, we just have to wait it out, unless the President is brought up on charges, or "impeached." If he's impeached and convicted, the Senate can then vote to remove him from office.

Yes RoadToad, that is what I am wondering as I see such unrest in the States now. The Prime Minister takes a risk to dissolve Parliament and call an early election but it also shakes up the government too. It can either strengthen the current party in power or get voted out. Mr Harper almost did it again this winter to shake things up. If the Members of Parliament are not getting any work done and passing bills then he steps in. It seems to work and get them back on track and working for the people. Sorry to hear you have to wait it out until the next scheduled election. I dont see this President getting impeached. He did win the Nobel Prize.
